Speech Therapy, PLLC
Tori Hirsch MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD is a licensed New York City based Speech and Language Pathologist (Speech Therapist). TalkingwithTori Speech Therapy has been a special vision of Tori's for a long time and she’s looking forward to sharing new and exciting ideas with all of you. Tori’s own experiences receiving speech services as a child, in conjunction with her passion for working with kids, have been her driving forces in the field.
Tori completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Go Gators!). Supplementing many hours preparing for classes, Tori managed to find time to make unforgettable memories volunteering with Best Buddies International, an organization that pairs mentors with individuals suffering from intellectual and developmental disabilities. This volunteer work further intensified Tori's enthusiasm for her career path. Her speech and language studies then continued into post graduate school, where she received her Master’s Degree from Touro College, with honors.
Tori is now a certified member of ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association) and also holds a New York State TSSLD license (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities). Tori completed her fellowship year working for the NYC Department of Education, where she was exposed to a diverse caseload of speech sound and language disorders. During her fellowship, Tori also worked part-time for an Early Intervention (EI) agency and truly found her niche with this population. In that regard, Tori specializes in providing pediatric play-based therapy, through both structured and unstructured activities, to encourage growth in expressive and receptive language skills. Tori spent 2 years as a virtual instructor, leading "Toddler Talk," a speech class dedicated to educating parents about early communication milestones. Tori came to realize her passion for collaborating with parents to tailor techniques and tools for their child's speech and language development through her role as a virtual class presenter.
Presently, Tori works full-time at a public elementary school, providing a broad range of intervention services to PreK-5th grade students. When the school day is over, Tori heads to the Upper West Side, Harlem, the Bronx and Westchester to work with kids privately. Tori continued her studies to obtain training in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets). She has seen excellent results applying hand techniques to her clients to develop and improve their motor, speech and communication abilities.
After work hours, you can sometimes find Tori at the track, on the tennis courts, or shopping around NYC!
